EAT’S ME / PROJEKT BIO-ART
Cykl wystaw/happeningów działających na zmysły smaku, węchu, dotyku, słuchu, wzroku w zaburzonej konfiguracji. Trwający od początku lat 90-tych XX wieku do dzisiaj artystyczny proces badawczy z wykorzystaniem nietypowego medium, którego efektem są prowokacyjne jadalne instalacje skłaniające odbiorcę do zaskakujących, nowych wrażeń wywołanych niestandardowym łączeniem bodźców. Celem procesu była i jest artystyczna teza autora zakładająca, że granice nie istnieją i są sztucznym wymysłem naszej cywilizacji. Swoimi prowokacjami autor na chwilę skłania do wymazywania z pamięci tych, które są już mocno utrwalone w świadomości.
W ramach cyklu publiczność ma okazję wchłonąć/zjeść /spróbować nietypowe „portrety smakowe” wykonane z galaret, czekolad, pasztetów, ciast i innych mas spożywczych serwowane w formie oryginalnych odcisków twarzy, rąk, nóg i innych części ciała. Swoich form użyczyli znani artyści, których głosu i utworów muzycznych można słuchać przez słuchawki podczas konsumpcji.
Każdy akt degustacji zamienia się w nietypowe spotkanie próbującego ze zjadanym.
Portrety smakowe to autorskie kompozycje zbudowane z wielu składników, tajemnicze, odważne, wymagające, ulotne, pyszne lub trudne. Kompozycje są uwarunkowane cechami portretowanego.
W trakcie wystaw w Mediolanie podczas Expo czy w Gdańsku w Galerii WL4 publiczność miała okazję wchłonąć poezję Mirona Białoszewskiego również poprzez wrażenia smakowe i węchowe. Jadalny wiersz „Życia sam zapach” odlany z litero wielu smakach poprzedzała projekcja niemego filmu przedstawiającego ten sam utwór literacki tłumaczony na kilka języków.
Podczas kolejnych wydarzeń z cyklu Eat’s Me prezentowanych we Wrocławiu (Europejska Stolica Kultury), Gdańsku WL4 publiczność miała okazję smakować różne odcienie i strukturę czerni, łzy i krew autora dodane do płynów w sektorze autoprezentacji czy upieczony w formie autoportretu chleb zawierający żywe komórki pobrane z ciała autora.
Ważnym i głębokim w warstwie symbolicznej wydarzeniem był performance „MLEKO” Na zaproszenie Anny Baumgart podczas spektaklu „Sprawa kobieca w Polsce” w ramach Festiwalu 4 Kultur w Łodzi pięćdziesiąt kobiet artystek, kuratorek, aktywistek bohaterek wydarzenia zostało poczęstowanych specjalnie przygotowanym i serwowanym przez autora syntetycznym białym lub czarnym mlekiem. W zależności od dokonanego wyboru po kilkusekundowej,intensywnej wymianie spojrzeń każda z nich usłyszała słowo „dziękuję” albo „przepraszam”
Cykl EAT’S ME jest otwartym procesem. Zakłada kolejne aktywności i nowe pomysły.
EAT’S ME / BIO-ART PROJECT
A series of exhibitions / happenings affecting the senses of taste, smell, touch, hearing and sight in a disturbed configuration. The artistic research process, which has been going on since the beginning of the 1990s to the present day, using an unusual medium, which results in provocative edible installations inducing the recipient to surprising, new impressions caused by a non-standard combination of stimuli. The aim of the process was and is the author’s artistic thesis that borders do not exist and they are an artificial invention of our civilization. With his provocations, the author inclines for a moment to erase from memory those that are already firmly established in consciousness.
As part of the series, the audience has the opportunity to absorb / eat / try unusual „taste portrets” made of jellies, chocolates, pies, cakes and other food masses served in the form of original imprints of the face, arms, legs and other parts of the body. Well-known artists have lent their forms and whose voice and their music compositions can be heard through headphones during consumption.
Each act of tasting turns into an unusual meeting between the tester and the eater.
Flavor portraits are original compositions made of many ingredients, mysterious, bold, demanding, fleeting, delicious or difficult. The compositions are conditioned by the features of the portrayed.
During exhibitions in Milan during Expo or Gdańsk in Galeria WL4, the audience had the opportunity to absorb the poetry of Miron Białoszewski also through taste and olfactory impressions. The edible poem cast from letters with many flavors, was preceded by a silent film showing the same literary work translated into several languages.
During subsequent events from the Eat’s Me series presented in Wrocław (European Capital of Culture), Gdańsk Gallery WL4 the audience had the opportunity to taste different shades and structure of black, tears and blood of the author added to liquids in the self-presentation sector or bread baked in the form of a self-portrait containing live cells taken from the body author.
An important and deep symbolic event was the performance „MILK” At the invitation of Anna Baumgart during the spectacle „Women’s issue in Poland” as part of the Festival of 4 Cultures in Łódź fifty women artists, curators, activists of the event were served a specially prepared synthetic white and black milk served by the author. Depending on the choice made after a few seconds of intense exchange of glances, each of them heard the word „thank you” or „sorry”
The EAT’S ME cycle is an open process. Assumes more activities and new ideas.
